In happier news I’ll stop writing about guitar window shopping and instead start complaining about not knowing what chords/songs I want to learn next or why I can’t get a clean sound recorded from my amp in to my minidisc..
 

10 ways to know that this is the time you’re going to learn to play guitar

1) you’ve been playing at every opportunity for the last week
2) your fingers no longer complain (they just look a little funny)
3) you have a favourite chord (Amaj7 at the moment)
4) you go to a gig and you find yourself mesmerised by the guitarist instead of the bass player
5) you go to a gig and as you watch the guitarist’s fingers you think to yourself “that’s a c”
6) you have a favourite pick
7) you find picks scattered on every surface of your flat
8) you carry a pick in your pocket (just incase)
9) you go to a guitar show
10) you buy a red, cheap and cheerful electric guitar..
