Walked up the stairs to work this morning to be greeted by about 20-odd helium balloons floating over all our desks shining “happy birthday”. A little box by my computer inside of which this sweet little branded iPod shuffle.. oooh. Red Square turned 10 years old and the work slowed in the morning while everyone was installing and filling up their iPods with smiles on their faces. Walking home was blissful with tunes of my choice in my ears… I’ve joined the white earphone brigade, of my!
If any Sydney-based web Producers or Designers are looking to work for a nice company that takes their staff go kart racing and gives them iPod shuffles then check out the job descriptions because we’re looking to add a few more to the ranks.
In other things.. caught Phonograph again last Friday and they were damn fine yet again so they’re definitely in the check-em-out-again list. Lyceum who started off the evening at the Excelsior were alright but their name to me brings thoughts of dark things whereas they were just your general nice band. The Model School were fine as well. Fine? Hmm.. I’d had a long week so wasn’t really paying attention except to Phonograph.
Saw Abdoujaparov on Tuesday at the Hopetoun and they were lovely brit style punk as the other 2 times I’ve seen them over the last 5 years. Should go and see them tonight but sleep beckons. Oh, and my Canon EOS 300d (the love of my life) had to be posted off to Canon for a bit of a service after a little accident on Friday so I feel a little lost going to gigs without it (Tuesday I took my Canon Ixus but it just wasn’t the same, sorry wee thing).
dem shuffles look good. but if you decide to go full on and get a H/D mp3 player…. make sure you get one that can record from an external microphone 😉 – it’s great option for recording gigs. As far as I am aware iPOD didn’t have this option – so I chose an iRiver. The model I choose has been superceded…. and their are more and more players out there that do have this ability to record directly to MP3 or even better WAV.
Just my two pence worth….
Yes Dan, pack up your Sheffield home, kids and dog and make your way over to Sydney. It’s nice out here.
