Whenever I wander near the Art Gallery of New South Wales, I always walk down the hill behind it to stand by Brett Whiteley’s “Almost Once” sculpture. Two massive match sticks, one fresh and new, the other burnt and charred.

The plaque has never, in my memory, looked too good but surely it’s time to get a new one put in place.
