Ooh the comments system works and it was the darling waferbaby himself who posted the first one. I feel honoured!

The recent lack of updates has been due to me picking myself up out of London and dropping back over to Sydney. I’ve been settling myself in for the last month, spending time visiting my mother out in Peak Hill (a town of about 1,400 people, five and a half hours drive inland from Sydney), and trying to re-acclimatise myself.

Leaving Sydney in June 2000 I knew there were plenty of silly little things I’d miss like taking a few hours of Saturday morning to read through the weekend Sydney Morning Herald, my favourite cafe in Surry Hills, the late night bookshops.

Over my time in London however I found my alternatives which I’m now missing like the Saturday Guardian, the good ol’ Birkbeck – my local pub with 50p pool and a great selection on the juke box, the masses of gigs around town every night.

You can’t have it all I guess, but it’s good to be back.
