listening to the album munki by the jesus and mary chain, the words ‘children are cool’ stuck in my head this afternoon spinning themselves around and around so I decided to get rid of them by doing a little design called (can you guess?) children are cool.
muggy weather has returned and i’m blaming it for my lack of enthusiasm for anything and general downward feeling. my occasional stretch of insomnia seems to have also returned which is no doubt contributing – i’ve spent the week yawning and feeling tired but unable to get more than a few hours sleep.
picked up a guardian early this morning and was happy to see mention of sister vanilla‘s gig for Wednesday night. i was looking forward to it a few days ago but seems not even that can lift my spirits right now. hopefully by wednesday at the very latest i’ll be back amongst the happy folk.
kimi raikkonen did a lovely little qualifying lap in formula 1 and got himself his first pole. how peculiar it must be to have never had poles but to have won numerous races and been leading the majority of the season so far. hope he can snatch back the lead in the race tomorrow.
also found myself watching a Wimbledon match between Tim Henman and Robin Soderling, rooting for the 18 year old underdog but unfortunately Henman had too much experience behind him.
hm.
