Steve’s postcard from Spain arrived today postmarked April 29.
Was I on holiday in England or America when Nicki was writing postcards and I saw that she was writing one to herself? I started doing the same after that. It helps having flatmates to address them to now but after they’ve sat on the fridge for a few weeks I take them back to my room to either put on the wall or in one of my various hideaway boxes.
I do buy postcards that never get sent, but I like the look and feel of them after they’ve been through the postal system, the stamps that have been postmarked, little creases of the corner where they’ve pressed up against other mail in sacks as they travel through the postal route.
