Reading Festival 2002 (Monday August 26th, 2002 - 13:34)

woke up early saturday morning with a three day weekend ahead of me and nothing particular i had to do so I decided to put an end to never having been to a festival and hopped on a train to Reading (okay, i know, some think that going to one day of a festival shouldn’t really count but i think it’s good enough)

saw the Libertines albeit with mass technical hitches
a bit of Andrew WK for a laugh
the D4
the Beatings
listened to Alec Empire from outside the tent
Ben Kweller <--- the main reason I ended up going along and I'm glad I did - he's awesome!
a bit of Ash
the Parkinsons <--- absolutely rocked!
and a bit of BRMC .. they were playing last and i was too knackered to hang around after they played the most popular songs first

+ heard various glimpses of a bunch of other bands

the parkinsons were in the signing tent and we were almost the only people to go and see them in there so i’ve got a nice belly full of signatures from Al, Victor and Chris

missed not having good coffee, drank way too much beer, slipped about when it rained, got soaked, experienced the joys of festival toilets, didn’t get a tan like i was hoping, listened in on neighbouring conversations from inside the tent, laughed alot but mostly just heard some great music!

if there’s a good line up i’m definitely doing that again!! and for the full weekend next time.
