is that all there is? (Friday February 13th, 1998 - 00:00)

category: mmhuh?

Is there anything left to discover in the world? I can’t help but think that all the major inventions have been invented, and anything that comes along now is simply a deviation of form. Can anything else be created/found/discovered/invented that is on par with things such as language or electricity?

Even art seems to have been completely done. No one seems to have come up with a completely new style or technique for a long time. All the old styles get rehashed, or several styles are mashed together for interests sake, but when you break it all down it is dated.

Though I don’t believe it’s necessarily a bad thing – it would mean that people have reached some sort of conclusive goal – it is somewhat sad that there seems nothing left that could at some point in time called new. Admittedly, how am I to know what is to come around the corner? Truly life changing things may come along, but right now everything just seems so very stagnant.
