Canberra calling (Tuesday November 7th, 2006 - 21:16)

category: mmhuh?

I’m going to try and run away to Canberra on Friday to meet my little niece so I’ll stay the night and try and get in a little sight-seeing before heading back to Sydney.

Has anyone visiting this little ramble of mine ever been to Canberra? Any suggestions on what to do apart from look at Lake Burley Griffin, check out Parliament House, and visit the National Gallery? Being book and library obsessed I’ll try to take in the National Library as well. I’ve had a look at the gig guide for Friday night but it looks a little.. tiny and no names that I recognise. I can’t go to a town and not see some music.. can I?

Help!

Guitar hero!! Nice pic. I know exactly what CD you’re playing along with, too, just looking at that finger placement. Well, okay, it also helps to look at your last.fm list right over there –>. Heh.

🙂

Been listening to a mighty dose of the Mary Chain lately myself (if you’ve checked out SCT in the past week, you probably already got a glimpse of the gusto with which I’ve gorged on their back catalog). I’ve dug out all of my old David J stuff as well. But I digress.

Canberra, huh. Can’t really help ya with that one, young miss. That’s the city to the southwest of you, right? Never made it that far in my travels over, under, down there. Would love to have seen Melbourne or Canberra. Just didn’t have enough time. Checked the gig guides on the Aussie-centric site I usually go to. Other than an awesome tour underway right now in Sydney and Brisbane by Ed Kuepper, I didn’t see any gigs around the ground you’ll soon be covering. Sorry. Have a fun trip. Guess we’ll “see” you when you get back.

I need to take a longer look outside myself.

You won’t even notice I’m gone dear Rider. It’ll be a whirlwind 1 day trip but hopefully the sunny weather they’re forecasting will be in full swing so I can take some pictures and share whatever it is I find to pass the time (much of which will be spent cooeing over the little Talikka of course!)
